Budding Beekeeper

Wyatt's Bee Suit (and my new jacket) came yesterday in the mail! We put it on almost instantly and went up to open the hive. He loved it! But then he got hot....so he lasted all of 5 minutes in it at the hive, but it's a start!

Happy 3rd Birthday Boppy!

Wyatt was Mr. Popular this weekend. We had a late evening birthday party for Naveen, or Veeny at 7pm at Chuck E. Cheese's on Friday, and a late morning birthday party for Betsy, or Boppy, at 10:30 saturday morning across the street. Somehow we fit everything in this weekend, including bee hive building, raw wool washing, and an attempt to learn how to use my new drop spindle.

Goodbye GiGi. We love you and Miss you.

This has been the hardest and most devastating week for my Vermont family. We lost our family matriarch, our rock, our constant, the greatest person in our world, our mother, our grandmother, our great grandmother. Gram was taken from us so suddenly and unexpectedly. We are all just so so so very sad. The only thing that saved us was that we have been together since Tuesday. Today was the first day that we went our separate ways, and we are all feeling the loss of our rock, as well as the loss of each other. We had just been spending each day at GiGi's crying together and supporting each other. The little cousins were able to laugh and play a bit. I will share some photos from the week that I was able to take during the lighter moments. Thank goodness for the children.

A Fun-Filled Saturday

We had some fun with Papa and Grandma Sheila over the weekend. Dyed some eggs and took them to the Caz Ski Club to watch us ski and do some snowshoeing. Can't believe how much snow there is! It was heavy and hard to ski in, especially for Wyatt. He managed one run before calling it quits after doing a somersault over the ski jump....and I managed 3 runs before I lost all ability to breath (suffering from bronchitis- STILL!!!!). So we made a snow caterpillar.

I really had no clue what they were making. Turns out, they were goggles made out of a cardboard cake mix box.

Someday Jay is going to wonder where Wyatt comes up with the stuff he is inevitably going to come up with, and this is proof of where it came from. I mean, who uses a drill to put eyeholes in a cardboard box????? How about some scissors?????
