Muffin's first Christmas Tree

She'll never remember, however my poor cold belly will. It was 34 degrees. Thank goodness there were tractors to bring us out to the trees. Enjoy the photos!

Wandering the Woods

This morning, I actually got to sleep in...until we realized it was only 6:58 and not 7:58. Does anyone know how long it has been since I actually slept past 7 am???? AT LEAST 4.5 YEARS!!! And it's not going to get any better!
Anyways, after some partially homemade waffles and bacon, we piled into the truck. It was 30 degrees out and cold. At this point, it was 9:13. We got to Todd's property and Jay proceeded to fill the truck with our last load of firewood. Wyatt, Sawyer and I started off exploring the woods. It was hilly and exhausting. Wyatt and Sawyer left me in the dust. Enjoy the photos! Some are of a very cold little boy who just didn't want to have his photo taken with the last load of wood for the year.

Our little Helper

Wyatt is getting so big and helpful! Here are photos of him helping me paint Muffin's dresser- it was my grandfather's, but we are giving it a little makeover for a little girl. Wyatt helped pick out the colors, knowing full well that purple was mommy's favorite color. Muffin will probably like pink. :) The next photos are of Wyatt helping Daddy unload wood and stack it. He really enjoys helping Jay do this. I think the wheelbarrow rides might help.

Halloween Cookies and Grandma Judy!

Wyatt woke up Friday morning and just wanted Grandma Judy. So he called her at 7am and she was on the train at 9am the next morning. She just couldn't say no to that kind of request. So, we picked her up at the train station at noon Saturday and drove out to Cazenovia to check on my bees. Then we stopped at the yarn store and came home to play. This morning, Sunday, our hot water heater broke so Grandma was here to help a bit. We made Halloween cookies (I wouldn't have taken this on except I had already made the dough the day before...washing sticky icing with cold water is NOT FUN!) Anyways, here is a photo or 2.

Halloween Howl

We joined Betsy, Kyle and Lena at the Holy Cross School's Halloween Howl this evening. Wyatt had fun playing the games and collecting the candy, but refused to take part in the dancing. The Haunted House portion was non-scary, but he did go through twice.  When we got home though he said it was not fun, so I guess all the people overwhelmed him a bit this year. Oh, and he wanted to go as spiderman to this event. go figure.

Happy 4th Birthday Wyatt!!!

Wyatt had a great birthday party. All his favorite people were in one spot! It was slightly crazy and a bit chaotic for us, but well worth it for Wyatt. Our yard is a little worse for wear - lots of boys and mud, but actually, Cheyanne and Betsy might have been even muddier than some of the boys.....

Wyatt had me knit little snakes for all his friends.

The candles were too far away for Wyatt to blow out.....

Cider making Party!

Well we sure are hitting all the fun fall activities this year. A chowder party last weekend and a cider party this weekend! Last weekend, Jay, Jack, Wyatt and I picked 2 five gallon buckets of apples to bring to the Howe's Annual Barn Party so that we could make cider with Todd's apple press. We made almost 2 gallons and it tastes pretty good. Here are some photos of Jay and Wyatt making cider with my co-workers Horst and Todd. And a photo of my co-worker Karen's family giving Sawyer some serious loving.

Cornfields, Chowder parties, and baby snakes

This past weekend we went to the cabin in Friendship to assist in the making of the Great Chowder. It is quite an endeavor, and takes several days of preparation. I will not give away the secrets here, but suffice it to say, it is a lot of work, but worth it in the end. Some of the weekend was spent collecting wild apples with Wyatt and Jack to make cider next weekend at a cider making party, some of the weekend was spent building forts, and running through Papa Jerry's cornfield. Here are some shots. Some viewers may find some photos frightening....Mom.
